3.0 Survey Overview
I will begin by noting that my statistics training consists of anything I picked up in high school, and one university course many many moons ago. Oh, and we did learn a bit in our Product Design class about writing evaluation questions. But other than that I'm not much more than a girl with a dream... to gather data. Most certainly I am not a quiz specialist, if you were one I'm sure you could point out a flaw or few.
I created the survey with the following goals:
- Gather data about people who fit this demographic: use the Internet, hopefully use Facebook or at least browsing/email etc
- Cross reference this with information about their overall computer knowledge, in order to determine profiles of people's behavior
- Extrapolate any points found, speculate on what could be the cause using my own personal experience as a Facebook user
- Use the survey itself as an example of transmission through the social networking web
- Get enough data to make a number of pretty pie and bar charts with fancy labels and colors and all that jazz
I discovered another result, found while analyzing the data of computer knowledge/Internet tasks. This is talked about more in the report.
